Chyna's Boudoir Experience

1) What made you choose Satin Dauls Boudoir?

I had wanted to do a boudoir photo shoot for a while; I thought the idea was fascinating and stunning. I chose Satin Dauls Boudoir after seeing a friend's photo shoot in 2021. Fast forward to 2023, when I am planning my wedding, finishing graduate school, and celebrating my 30th birthday; I bit the bullet and booked! Brianne's work blew me away; the company she has built, her energy and enthusiasm, the fabulous size-inclusive closet, and that she is a boudoir photographer of color. Each of these aspects helped guide me to decide to book with her!

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

I find myself very sexy and am not outwardly self-conscious in many aspects of my life. However, to be stripped down to the bare minimum, I was nervous about how my body would look on camera and which angles would be the best.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

The whole experience was terrific! As I told Brianne and Kirsten after my photo shoot, the experience was so much fun and actually relaxing. Even though they were shocked to hear "relaxing," I believe that is a testament to the incredible energy Brianne and her team exude with the baddies of the day. Some top-tier aspects of the experience include the closet and options, hair and makeup with Lisa, the photo highlights of my engagement ring, and doing the Birthday Boudie Call and playing with cake. Brianne asked if I wanted to wear a lingerie piece or my birthday suit for that portion, and I went all in and opted for the birthday suit; I loved it and even got to wear this jeweled dress!

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

It was such a great experience. When I got the digital collection, I immediately sent a quick video of all the pictures to my fiancé and bridesmaids! I personally cannot stop looking at them and how amazing I look and, ultimately, feel as a result of the experience. I cannot wait to share a couple on social media for my 30th birthday!

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

I already have a generally positive perception of myself. However, after months of graduate school, working as an educator, and planning my wedding, I am tired and less motivated to get as made up as I usually would. Thus, my perception of myself has fallen just a little bit. This experience allowed me to take a moment for myself, revel in it, and appreciate all of me and my accomplishments that have brought me to where I am. 

6) Would you recommend Satin Dauls Boudoir to others?

I would absolutely recommend Satin Dauls Boudoir to others! As my first boudoir experience, it was beautiful. I am all about energy and vibes, and I received that from Brianne and her team upon the first meetings. The experience is fun, rewarding, and powerful for everyone looking to try it! I look forward to doing a couple's boudoir shoot with my fiancé soon!
