I had been wanting to book a session for a while after seeing friends do a shoot with other photographers. I found Satin Dauls on Instagram and immediately wanted to look into a shoot with Brianne. I ended up applying for the Body of Work Muse Call and was chosen and the rest was history!

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

How I would look in the lingerie. I'm a larger woman and very self-conscious about my body and how other people see me.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

Brianne hands down - the ultimate hype woman! She made me feel so confident and comfortable the entire session.

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Empowered. I have never felt so beautiful. I'm just so proud of myself for taking the chance and going through with the shoot.

I think I was more nervous about figuring out if I was using the ParkMobile app correctly LOL But yes, I was definitely nervous that I wouldn't fit into anything or that I'd pose like an idiot. You made me feel comfortable as soon as you opened the door and I saw your smile.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

You we re my favorite part! Your energy is so positive and powerful, and you have a beautiful light surrounding you. You made the experience so much fun! I loved that it was just the two of us and you gave me such positive reinforcement with each pose.

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I kinda feel like a sexy diva emerged! When I saw the link to my photos and we nt through them again, I was like "Damn! That's my ass!" LOL

1) What made you choose Satin Dauls Boudoir?

I searched on Instagram for "new jersey black woman boudoir photography" and Satin Dauls had the most professional and well-made social media and digital presence. I take stuff like that super seriously, especially for an investment like this.

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

Not much. I'm a Googler...so I research my decisions thoroughly before making plans and I look up other people's experiences beforehand to get an idea of what to expect. It also helped to make an inspiration Pinterest board and build an idea and mindset for what I wanted my photoshoot to express.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

Finally seeing the photos. I don't think I've ever been captured so well in photos as I was in this shoot. I feellike my true personality and womanhood shone through. I love how expressive my eyes were.

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Ready to try another supposedly scary thing. Ready to airdrop some of my photos in an airport because I'm a BAD BITCH and YOU'RE WELCOME IN ADVANCE!

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

Definitely. I felt confident in myself walking in but I really saw myself in a whole new light seeing myself captured so softly. Like I'm strong and can handle everything but I'm also so feminine and soft and gentle and I forget that sometimes. These pics help me remember.

I researched a little bit on social media and chose Satin Dauls because I loved the photos/style of your work.

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

I was nervous about looking too posed, or unnatural. Also, I had just started my period so I was super nervous about that, but never once was I made to feel gross or weird. Brianne literally said "it's totally normal and we just keep going" which was super comforting and exactly what was done.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part was getting all glammed up and seeing what i can do! Also, sitting at Brianne's desk after the fact just getting hit with photo after photo and feel ing super good about myself and my body!

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

SORE! You were soooo right about it being a workout! But I also feel so incredibly excited to give this gift to my fiancé! I also can not wait to do this again!

I looked at numerous other photographers but once I saw Brianne and her portfolio, my gut instinct told me that she was the one for me. I loved how confident and self-assured everyone looked in her portfolio and I knew that was exactly what I wanted for myself and what was missing in many other photographers' portfolios. I was specifically looking for a black female photographer for this shoot.

A little nervous but mainly because I don't consider myself photogenic or good at posing. But Brianne alleviated those fears almost immediately.

Looking at the photos at the end and unexpectedly feeling like a badass. I loved seeing myself portrayed in a sexy and confident manner.

I was specifically looking for a black female photographer for this shoot. I was looking high and low for photographers in DC but none of them really spoke to me when reviewing their photos on Instagram. When I came across your page, I knew immediately that you were the photographer for me. Your behind the scene looks showed how you really work with clients, make them feel comfortable, and just create a fun environment.

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

I think I was most nervous about the poses and if they would actually come out looking good or awkward. I also don't really consider myself a sexy person so I was nervous about actually capturing that sex appeal and stepping out of my comfort zone.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

Kiki-ing with you was my favorite part. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, you made it feel like we were friends which made the experience even more comfortable. I've already told so many of my friends that they need to book with you because the experience was just such a positive one.

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I feel great! I was a little sore after but it really did feel like I had completed an intense yoga session.

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

It definitely did. It was everything that I was looking for and then some. I realized that I can be sexy, I just need to lead with a little more confidence. Next time I'm trying to be sexy, I'm going to channel my inner Brianne and think back to this shoot.

I I honestly didn’t think I was going to look good — but when I saw my photos, I was like DAMN! I was worried about my stomach, but everything looked amazing. 1) What made you choose Satin Dauls Boudoir?

I knew I didn't want to travel far for the photo shoot, and was really happy when I found Brianne's location in Boonton. The portfolio on her website (and the website itself) were incredibly beautiful and tasteful. I could also tell that the process would be very confidential, which was important to me. I didn't in my wildest dreams think I could look like the women in her photos, but I wanted to give it a try.

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

My face! I NEVER like the face I'm making in pictures and it's the main reason I don't have a lot of pictures of myself. I was also nervous that my 'trouble spots' on my body would be too obvious in the photos. (neither of these things were anything to worry about in the end).

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

The big reveal! It was so emotional to see myself in the photos. I was already prepared to coach myself through criticizing myself when I saw the photos, but instead I was completely blown away by what Brianne showed me and how much I loved seeing myself through Brianne's lens. I think a photo shoot with Brianne should be required for any modern woman who wants to embrace her own beauty during any phase of life. Brianne's superpower is showing you beauty in yourself that you couldn't see before. As women, we are always thinking about something with our bodies that needs "working on". Brianne's photos showed me that I'm more perfect than I have ever given myself credit for. Nothing needs working on. I just need to ENJOY this body I get to live in right now instead of waiting for some fictional time in the future when I'll finally feel good about myself.

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Pretty obsessed with myself? I keep asking my husband what it's like to be married to an actual supermodel. I feel more beautiful in Brianne's pictures than I did on my wedding day 15 years ago - or ever, really.

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

YES, YES, YES. I don't think I can ever have a day where I feel bad about myself again knowing that on one day in July of 2025, I looked like THAT.

Absolutely - It's not just about the pictures. I could write an entire book about what I experienced in Brianne's studio yesterday. First, Brianne as a human being is so aspirational because she is a badass female business owner who is killing it in her industry. This was an experience that I’ve always known I wanted to do but never quite knew where to start. At a bridal show, as it was coming to a close, I saw a beautiful angel wing/lingerie display out of the corner of eye. I was immediately pulled into the business’ booth for the energy it emanated. But what sold me was Brianne’s hype, spirit and the way she put everyone at ease about any anxieties surrounding the experience. She has a loud passion for empowering women and her hard work showcases it from the start of this process to the very end!

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

I was nervous about my body- the marks, the folds, the parts that arebigger than those of the models I grew up with. Once I put on the Satin Dauls robe, the first outfit and had my hair and makeup done, all my insecurities went away. In front of the camera, Brianne choreographed every detail to perfection and showed me the shots. I didn’t have to overthink anything for once. I ended up looking like a version of me I always wanted to be! Throughout the experience, she was the ULTIMATE hype girl and kept the energy and confidence high until the very end.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

Getting to feel like a boss bitch again. I haven’t felt like my body is something to show off in a long time. This experience reminded me that my body is a powerful and beautiful force and I am more proud of what I look like than I have been in a while :)

Oh my goodness, I want to do it again! It was a rush! I felt pampered and pretty and cannot wait to go back one day. I am also filled with all the gratitude for the lady who made this experience all the good that it was- thank you Brianne!

She had waited for this moment, choosing to book her shoot after completing a deeply personal part of her journey—getting her floral bra tattoo. This tattoo wasn’t just about covering her scars; it was about turning them into something beautiful, something hers. It transformed the story her body told, intertwining survival with art in the most breathtaking way.

For her, the tattoo wasn’t just ink—it was a reclamation. After everything her body had been through—the surgeries, the healing, the emotional weight of survival—this tattoo became a symbol of her strength, her femininity, and her choice to bloom again. I was nervous on being half naked for pictures lol but also posing, i feel that I am very awkward with that and I don't take great pictures, but you we re so encouraging and once you said girl you are killing and showed me the 1st picture you snapped my mouth dropped. Is tat me WOW! I Still can't believe it.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

I will just say that my least favorite part was having to choose from all the great images lol. I felt literally like a queen, I really enjoyed the WHOLE experience from start to finish. Even the Hair/makeup artist was such a sweetheart!

I feel like a bad B** lol. Filled with confidence, I can't stop looking at the images.

YES! MY confidence level is not so great, and I honestly hear people tell me i'm pretty I always kindly respond thank you, but I never believe. SO this was a great opportunity to see myself how others see me regardless of how I feel.There is something that everyone doesn't like about their body, and I would definitely say that this shoot made me more self aware and self accepting of all those flaws I see in myself.

I chose you because originally I was researching different photographers on Instagram, but your work blew everyone else’s out of the water!! Not only were your pictures incredible, but the captions really made it- I could tell you were soinspiring to women, knew how to lift them up, and would make the experience life changing!

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

Oh my goodness I was nervous about everything but I’m also an anxious girly at heart lol! I loved the prep guide and that helped a lot with the nervousness, but I was more so nervous on my end about being concerned that the pictures weren’t going to turn out the way I wanted, or that it was going to be awkward shooting them!

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

I don’t even think I could choose a favorite part! Getting ready was great, it made me loosen up and feel more comfortable. The actual shooting part was so much fun to do so I feel like I would have to choose that as my favorite, but then again, I literally cried when you showed me the slideshow so clearly that was a great moment too!

I was in search of something that catered to Black women, and would focus on ensuring I would be as comfortable as possible. In doing research, I loved that Brianne emphasized that. After my initial consultation call, it really affirmed that Satin Dauls was exactly what I was looking for.

Yes. Nervous about bringing my own lingerie and would it look good for the shoot. Brianne and I used one of the outfits and picked one from her amazing closet. She knew what would photograph the best for my body shape and it worked out perfectly.

Overall, it was how casual the whole experience was. It felt like a fun activity with a friend. Very affirming and motivating, while also being fun and light.

I guess I was just nervous about being comfortable enough while so “exposed” and also about my imperfections, especially my blotchy legs. I have never felt that I was a very photogenic person so I was a bit nervous that I wouldn’t like the way I looked in the photos.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

I honestly loved all of it…the makeover & choosing the outfits and the shoot itself. Your directions/poses we re so detailed and amazingly easy to follow. As an indecisive person at times, I really appreciated you narrowing down my choices to 40 photos. I was so much less overwhelming than I had anticipated. I never expected to like the photos of myself so much that I would have trouble choosing, which was a really nice “problem” to have.

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I feel great. Still keep looking at them, which keeps me motivated to continue working hard with my exercise routines. I also showed my daughter, who also loved them. They loved my hair so now I need to try to replicate those curls so mehow, lol.

Absolutely, I was always self-conscious when I was much younger about my looks and my “big booty”. I have a whole new appreciation for my “booty” now and the rest of me.

I was nervous about how I’d look; as many of us have insecurities about our bodies I worried that my insecurities would consume the pics or be easy to spot however the pics are 100% me and showed it all yet still I looked/felt great!

I did a lot of research prior to our initial phone call and based on your content (website & instagram) I just really felt connected to the vibe of your photographs. I read reviews that all raved about their experience and knew I needed to look no further!

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

Honestly, going into the session I was most nervous about my face and not being able to make the right faces that would look sexy enough or match the photos we were doing. You talked me through that from the beginning and made me feel so beautiful throughout. The photos are proof that I am able to be sexy (even if I didn't know it)!

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of the whole experience is hard to say. I loved getting to know you and Lisa (makeup and hair artist). I felt powerful during the poses that you coached me through. You made me feel so comfortable and felt like a friend I've always had and known. The entire time I was able to live completely in the moment and forget about all the other responsibilities in life and truly just focus on myself. THEN I got to see the photos after the fact and was even more blown away by the session!!

I am still so giddy. I cannot express enough how incredible of an experience this was. I felt so many feelings that I don't often get to feel. I feel so at peace and really proud of pushing myself out of my comfort zone in order to try something new. I am not even joking, I have looked at the pictures every single day!

ABSOLUTELY! I am a very body positive person and confident to begin with but I'm still human and have negative thoughts about myself. I really wanted to do this for myself as I am often described as cute, but not frequently do I get sexy and now I KNOW I am sexy too! Seeing the pictures, I couldn't believe it was actually me!

I we nt into my search after deciding I wanted to gift my fiancé with an album for our upcoming we dding. I searched and found some talented photographers but Brianne’s portfolio, vibe and information about herself had me DEEP DIVING. I was looking her up on Facebook and Instagram because her work drew me in like no other. The options for what you wanted out of your shoot was clear and made me feel like a baddie before I even chose mine. It was like having a crush, I couldn’t stop thinking about Satin Dauls! I wanted to be in front of her camera.

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

I have always had a negative view of my body growing up but recently learned to love myself after a bad break up and finding my soulmate who loves every inch of me and tells me everyday. He reminds me that I am beautiful as I am and deserve to love myself and this body I have.

I still have my days where I am not happy with what I see in the mirror (I’m human!) but then I lift myself up and point out what I like. Capturing my body camera has never been a favorite of mine so I was nervous as hell but after all of the interactions with Brianne and her social media presence those we re quickly washed away.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

The posing! I felt like a model! Being told how to move and flow your body to look extra sexy and sultry was so much fun. It feels so out of the box from the day to day so to feel like this beautiful queen posed up like a doll made my confidence skyrocket!

Like I need to be kinder to myself. I am beautiful. I just needed to see it differently.

Yes! This body has given me so much and I stepped in front of the mirror telling myself that beautiful goddess in the photos is right here. She looks just as gorgeous in shorts and a shirt as she does dolled up in lingerie.

I chose Satin Dauls Boudoir after seeing a video clip of Photographer Brianne Dauls during one of her sessions. Brianne was so energetic and encouraging towards her client. I knew that if I decided to book a boudoir shoot that I would need a little “push” and extra encouragement from the photographer. I saw that Brianne was demonstrating the poses for her clients and flooding them with compliments and (body) positivity. After I saw the diverse range of models in Satin Dauls’ collection, I knew that it was the best place for me!

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to make the same poses or facial expressions as the models. I feared that I wouldn’t “look sexy enough.” I was totally wrong! My nerves calmed as soon as I arrived at the studio. Brianne and her team took extra time to instruct me on how to achieve each pose and facial expression. It was surprisingly easy as they have a toolbox of tricks to achieve mind-blowing photographs and “sexy” facial expressions! They are experts at shooting in a way that highlights your best features.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of the experience was getting to see some of the photos in real time! There were moments when Photographer Brianne would flip the camera and show me the photos. It was a huge confidence booster and as the session progressed, I felt more and more confident. I also loved that I could view and receive the photos the same day as the shoot! It made me feel so accomplished and was a great way to end the day.

Now that I’ve completed the session, I feel powerful, motivated, and sexy. I have a newfound confidence in myself to step outside of my comfort zone. I've never felt so sexy and confident in my ability to take risks.

Several things: First, I started my search by looking for a woman of color. Any way I can support another WOC in business I will! Second, the fact that makeup, hair, and even wardrobe options would all be taken care of. How To Stretch For Your Session!

The main areas of the body we want to focus on for stretching prior to your boudoir session are your neck, back, shoulders and feet! You should try to stretch as much as you can, ideally every day or even in the morning and evening. I would recommend doing this for at minimum the 2 weeks leading up to your session!

Stretching before your session will ensure that you are loose and limber for the posing, so that you can get the most out of every pose we do. The more you can arch your back for instance, the more dramatic and sexy the pose is going to look. Granted, not all of our clients are physically capable of doing all of our poses, the more prepared you are for your session the better your results will be. We just want to provide you with the best prep information to make the most out of your day!

To stretch your neck, practice looking up at the sky as high as you can. Hold that position for 15-30 seconds at a time, and try doing it in reps of 10! After you loosen that up, repeat it again but instead of looking straight up, add a twist to the left and right. You should really feel a stretch through the side of your neck!

To stretch your back, place your hands on your lower back and push your hips forward while you look back at the wall behind you. Try to hold that position for 10-20 seconds at a time and do it in reps of 15!

Another great back stretch is to sit in a chair with your feet on the ground, and without leaning forward try to stretch your arms out in front of you. This should round your upper back and rotate your shoulders forward. If you’re not feeling it in your upper back between your shoulder blades, you’re not doing it right!! Do this for 10 seconds at a time in intervals of 5.

The feet are the easiest to stretch. We want you to roll your ankles over and over again for about 30 seconds to warm them up. Then simply point your toes like a ballerina! This should make a straight line down your leg, NOT a flexed food which would make a 90 degree angle. Do this for 15 seconds in reps of 10!

I hope this helps get you limbered up for your session, and even if you don’t have one booked yet you can still try to incorporate more stretching into your daily life!

Here at our Satin Dauls Boudoir, we LOVE albums!!

Why? Because they are the ultimate heirloom keepsake from your session. While we would love all of our clients to turn their images into wallpaper, most people opt to enlarge 2-3 of their favorite images into wall art and then the rest go into the album.

The album is a luxury bound book containing your images from your session. On average, each album will include around 20-40 of your favorite images from your day (exact quantity based on your package selection and any additional upgrades). Your album is going to tell a story about your day, we typically design them with you at your reveal (which takes place an hour after your session). Your images are going to look INCREDIBLE printed, and the impact they have in print will supersede the way they look and feel on your screen.

Our albums are customizable, from the size, color of the cover material, optional cover image, and overall interior design. We will custom design your album during your reveal so you know exactly what it is going to look like when you receive it in the mail!

Our production time on all prints and products (including digital images) is roughly 1 week after your session, so if you need your images back by a certain date make sure you book far in advance! Our studio consistently books 6 weeks to months out, occasionally we can squeeze in a last minute booking if we have space. Don’t wait until it’s two weeks before Christmas to reach out to us about a holiday gift!

Two things made me a bit nervous even though I had done it before - obviously, you are exposed! It’s always a bit nerve wracking knowing you’re about to be nude in front of strangers but, Brianne and her team make you feel so comfortable in your own skin before you know it. Brianne and her team coach you through each step of the process and after a couple YAAAS’s - you know she is capturing gold!

How to prep for your boudoir shoot!

WHAT TO EXPECT?

PRIMP THE DAY BEFORE

Shave legs & underarms the night before to avoid razor rash.
If waxing do so at least 48 hours in advance to minimize pinkness.
Use a professional for spray tans (unless you are pro DIY'er) as it can leave dark spots on your pores or streaks on hands & feet.
Stay hydrated and drink lots of water in the days prior to your session, this will keep your skin glowing and hydrated.
STRETCH the night before and morning of. You're going to be in for a workout ;)
Moisturize yourself the day of, skip oily or sparkly options.
Now would be a great time to get your nails done or paint them (don’t forget your toes!).

DAY OF YOUR SESSION

Shoot starts at 10am. Don't be late!
STRETCHHHHHH
Skip the socks, tight underwear or bra prior to your session to prevent lines and marks that can sometimes take hours to disappear. Don't worry, I'll have a cozy robe for you to rock while you're in hair and makeup.
Skip white deodorant as well and opt for clear instead.
Be sure to arrive with clean and dry hair, as well as a clean and moisturized face.
It’s okay to be nervous. I will help you and demonstrate posing, but after a while you’ll be a natural.
I will show you the back of my camera throughout the shoot, so you can see how amazing you look. It’s all about having fun!

1) What made you choose Satin Dauls Boudoir?

I actually wanted to have this experience for years but I wanted to do it with a photographer that made me feel comfortable. Since I had no idea where to go to find that comfort I desired, I kinda hung up this idea. How ever, I was scrolling on Facebook and saw my friend had did her second session with Brianne and after looking at her work, I was blown away by the way she was able to capture the beauty and strength in all of the beautiful women of all shapes and sizes. It excited me and I decided to book a session as a birthday gift to myself.

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

I was nervous that I would feel uncomfortable and wouldn’t know what to do with my body. I remember choosing to do this as I wanted to just take a risk. When the moment came to do the session, I realized I hadn’t lost the weight that I set out to lose and I was in a different place in my life. I was nervous that it was bad timing as I wasn’t feeling my best due to various things.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

Aside from just simply feeling beautiful and having this session done with a team who were so uplifting, I enjoyed being able to see myself in a light that I haven’t seen in a while.

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I am so happy that I did this session. Just thinking about it makes me smile. Before the session I was thinking I chose a bad time to do this but I left realizing that I rocked it despite it all. I may possibly be addicted to this feeling . Absolutely a fun and empowering experience but also so therapeutic!?

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

This experience reminded me that there is so much more to me. It reminded me that I am worthwhile, I am strong, I am beautiful on the inside and out, I’m sexy and I can step out of my comfort zone. It was such a freeing experience for me.

WHY BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY?

People often ask me this, and honestly, putting it into words is a bit tricky because I'm way better with my camera than with talking. But hey, let me give it a shot!

Boudoir is more than just snapping pretty pics. For me, it's like the kickoff to self-love. It's about boosting confidence, appreciating your bod, and getting all dolled up to feel like a supermodel. Plus, there's the bonus of cracking up at my weird dance moves and cheesy jokes during the shoot. It's all about the amazing transformation that happens before and after.

I'm all about showing every woman how truly beautiful she is. Let's ditch the idea that there's something "wrong" with your body just because it doesn't match those perfect images on social media. I want to change how you see yourself because, at some point, someone made you feel less than stunning. Whether you're short, tall, curvy, skinny, or have a few dimples, we come in all shapes and sizes – and that's something to embrace! I genuinely believe that EVERY BODY is beautiful, and Boudoir is for everybody!

The magic that unfolds in the studio is incredible! It's not just about the physical transformation of getting all glammed up – it's about the mental shift that happens after your boudoir session.

In every session, I notice something special. Most women walk in with a bit (or a lot!) of nervous energy. Usually, as she settles into the hair and makeup chair, those nerves start to fade, and she begins to fully embrace the experience. Once the hair and makeup are done, and it's time to slip into that first outfit, the nerves might creep back in. But as we start the shoot, I show her the initial shots on the back of the camera, and I see that look of relief. "Wow, is that me? That's not me!" they say in disbelief as they see the supermodel version of themselves on the camera. I love that moment when I reveal the images, and you realize all those initial nerves were for nothing! You start to relax, have fun, and your confidence begins to shine through!

By the time we wrap up the shoot, it feels like we've been friends forever! Each session is a mix of pampering and enjoyment, all while creating incredible pictures that you'll cherish. You walk away with a smile and a sense of accomplishment for conquering something that initially scared you – but you did it anyway! And guess what? You realize the whole experience was not just about creating art and pretty pictures; it was transformative!

MY WHY

In this intimate art form, I discovered the power to help women embrace their true selves. I strive for every woman who sees my work to find a reflection of themselves—diverse in race, size, and shape. Each image whispers, "You are beautiful just as you are."

But my purpose extends beyond the studio walls. As a mother, I want my children, especially my daughter, to understand their worth and to recognize the inherent beauty in their bodies. Through boudoir, I teach them about the strength and power they possess, fostering a deep sense of self-empowerment.

I have thought about doing something like this for years and looked up many different photographers. Looking through Satin Dauls posts, it is clear that Brianne works to take beautiful photos of women with all different body types and sizes. That gave me the confidence to reach out to her.

I assumed that there were two types of people: the ones who looked sexy in photos and the ones like me who could always find a way to look awkward! Brianne gave easy to follow guidance that made posing feel very natural and resulted in beautiful photos.

I loved actually doing the poses and then seeing the photos immediately after- I did not know if I would feel like I was looking at myself or like looking at a stranger since this is a little outside my normal wheel house- but seeing the results so quickly connected me to the experience and made me feel empowered.

I feel like I enjoyed an experience that I was very nervous about, and accomplishing something that is scary is incredibly empowering. I also feel proud of the photos I have!

100%. I have never seen myself in the light that Brianne captured on camera, and I usually don't slow down and think about how to enjoy the way my body looks. Sharing the photos with my partner had been wonderful and has made me feel great about myself.

Excuses ...

When we get nervous, we make excuses.

As women with tend to put ourselves on the backburner. We find every reason not to love or take care of ourselves. I get it…life is busy!! Work is crazy, you are taking care of your household while simultaneously orchestrating everyone’s schedule. You are making sure that the kids are taken care of while still making time for your spouse and hoping the world doesn’t implode around you.

Or you may say to yourself: “I want to lose 15 pounds first”, “I don’t have the money right now” or “I don’t have the confidence”. I wanted to let you know that no matter the excuse, you can do it! Let me show you that no matter what, YOU ARE WORTHY OF SELF-LOVE!

I don't have time to do this for myself ...

It is important to remember that if you are not taking care of yourself mentally, you’re not going to be able to handle taking care of everyone else. This makes sense but it is actually much harder said then done! I am the worst at giving myself mental health breaks and doing things for me. That’s why I think it’s so important to share this with you all! I make the same excuses as above and sometimes I need someone to look at me in the face and say “Girl…slow down, give yourself a break, breathe for a minute”.

At a boudoir shoot you are able to breathe, and love yourself for a few hours. Plus, think of all the energy you’ll save on a daily basis if you stopped comparing yourself and stopped worrying about what other people think about your looks. You get to see where your beauty really comes from and this lifts such a huge mental weight.

You need to take time for yourself and to treat yourself. Why not spend having an amazing time getting glammed up and feeling like the bad*** that you are?

I need to lose weight first ...

I will say this over and over again (and sorry, not sorry if you’ve heard me say it before), but why do you have to be a certain size to love yourself? Sexy is not a size…it’s an attitude and boudoir is for everybody and EVERY TYPE OF BODY! I want you to love your body right now!

Honestly, I think it’s amazing to have goals and want to get healthy, but does that mean you have to hate your body to do those things? Absolutely not! You should love yourself every step of the way. Be proud of your now so that you can be proud of where you’re going. I promise you…Letting your guard down and embracing yourself and your body will make you feel so proud and powerful!

You don’t need to lose weight first to look smoking hot in your portraits! It’s my job to use the right posing, lighting and lens choices to make you look amazing. It’s your job to have a moment of bravery and book a session, commit, and show up for yourself!

I do not feel sexy so a boudoir shoot must not be for me ...

NO WAY! This is so wrong!!

This is actually one of the MAIN REASONS to do a shoot!

When life gets busy, it is very easy to lose touch with our femininity or sexuality. I’m right there with you. This is a totally normal feeling and it is okay. Creating boudoir photos is a fabulous way to get in touch with your feminine side. It may sound crazy but getting out of your comfort zone will ultimately allow you to feel more comfortable, sexy and confident in your own skin!

Lastly, most women envision a boudoir shoot in lingerie but it doesn’t have to be. If you feel like this doesn’t show your personality, then there are so many other outfit choices. I would be happy to hear any ideas you have…it’s important that you feel comfortable!

My friend did her boudoir shoot with you and as soon as I saw the photos I knew I had to book. I had done one other shoot with another photographer in the past and while she was very nice, the photos just were not what I wanted. Honestly that the investment would not be worth the return again. Boudoir is a pretty decent financial investment and a very personal thing. Allowing someone else to see you in that manner can be nerve racking whether it’s the first time or not. A friend of mine had added me to the Satin Dauls VIP group on facebook a few years ago. I've loved watching Brianne refine her craft and become such an incredible boudoir photographer. She is so dedicated to learning and growing her skills and that was a huge draw for me. She has an incredible aesthetic and I love the diversity in her clients. The stars aligned this year and I was able to invest in a shoot with her so finally took the plunge!

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

Is everything an acceptable answer? I know I'm my own worst critic, but I was so anxious about how I was going to look in the shoot. My body not being what it once was, not considering myself an overly sensual person, not having any lingerie. I was very much in my own head worrying about how it would all turn out. Brianne helped assuage those fears during our call leading up to the session and it was a relief not to worry about bringing anything with me knowing I had access to the client closet.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

I loved being pampered by having a hair and makeup artist for the session. It was also really fun to see some different styles of lingerie and getting to play dress up. The whole time during photos, Brianne was so helpful and showed me every pose before doing it, and gave so much positive feedback throughout. But my ultimate favorite part was the reveal. I could not believe I was the person in the photos. It was really intense to look at myself from a different perspective and think, "wow, she looks hot!" I got so emotional to see myself in that light, that I cried!

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Sore! Brianne really gets you into some interesting positions during the shoot and you will use muscles you never knew you had. But I really feel amazing knowing that I did the damn thing. It was an experience so far out of my comfort zone but I have a huge sense of accomplishment and being able to see myself in a different light gave me a huge confidence boost.

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

Being the mom to three kids, I feel like I've lost a bit of my sense of self. I don't spend a lot of time looking in the mirror and honestly feel uncomfortable at times doing so. I'm making more of an effort to really love myself and my body, and doing this shoot propelled me forward to a place where I can appreciate where I've been and where I am now. Any time I need another boost, I know I'm going to be pulling these photos up to check myself out!

A million times yes. Brianne offers an incredible experience from start to finish and is such an amazing and polished photographer. She is so positive and your biggest cheerleader during the shoot. I had wanted to do a boudoir photo shoot for a while; I thought the idea was fascinating and stunning. I chose Satin Dauls Boudoir after seeing a friend's photo shoot in 2021. Fast forward to 2023, when I am planning my wedding, finishing graduate school, and celebrating my 30th birthday; I bit the bullet and booked! Brianne's work blew me away; the company she has built, her energy and enthusiasm, the fabulous size-inclusive closet, and that she is a boudoir photographer of color. I find myself very sexy and am not outwardly self-conscious in many aspects of my life. However, to be stripped down to the bare minimum, I was nervous about how my body would look on camera and which angles would be the best.

The whole experience was terrific! As I told Brianne and Kirsten after my photo shoot, the experience was so much fun and actually relaxing. Even though they were shocked to hear "relaxing," I believe that is a testament to the incredible energy Brianne and her team exude with the baddies of the day. Some top-tier aspects of the experience include the closet and options, hair and makeup with Lisa, the photo highlights of my engagement ring, and doing the Birthday Boudie Call and playing with cake. Brianne asked if I wanted to wear a lingerie piece or my birthday suit for that portion, and I went all in and opted for the birthday suit; I loved it and even got to wear this jeweled dress!

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

It was such a great experience. When I got the digital collection, I immediately sent a quick video of all the pictures to my fiancé and bridesmaids! I personally cannot stop looking at them and how amazing I look and, ultimately, feel as a result of the experience. I cannot wait to share a couple on social media for my 30th birthday!

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

I already have a generally positive perception of myself. However, after months of graduate school, working as an educator, and planning my wedding, I am tired and less motivated to get as made up as I usually would. Thus, my perception of myself has fallen just a little bit. This experience allowed me to take a moment for myself, revel in it, and appreciate all of me and my accomplishments that have brought me to where I am.

I was nervous I wouldn’t portray sexy on film. I’m not photogenic as a general rule so I was nervous it would be a waste of my time and hers.

My favorite part of the session was laughing! I felt like I was with a girlfriend having fun on a Tuesday with a camera in a living room. There should be a blooper reel! So much fun!!

Well, I was looking online for a photographer for a boudoir shoot which I've wanted to do so some time. I found Satin Dauls, I did some research and I loved Brianne's art, this is what she does, it's art. I loved how all her client pictures were different women of all shapes and sizes and she captured all their beauty. I then started to follow her on social media and was just wowed at all the beautiful pictures, very tasteful, considerate of her clients features. I couldn't wait for my turn.

I was worried about how I would feel as I have never been very comfortable with my body until recently I've come to terms with myself. When I arrived at the studio the makeup artist, Lisa, was wonderful at capturing what I wanted while Brianne pulled out beautiful outfits with amazing colors they collaborated together all the while making me feel at ease, I put my whole trust in them and wow was I blown away with the results.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

There were so many exciting moments, nervousness, excitement. But overall the actual shoot was my favorite part once we began taking pictures I felt so confident, Brianne is the best hype woman ever! It didn't take much after that I knew I had made the right choice.

I left the studio feeling absolutely gorgeous and confident, empowered as a woman. What an amazing feeling to be able to see yourself in that way. I cried at my reveal of joy.

I was most nervous about how my body would photograph. While I consider myself a confident woman, the last few years have been rough and I have been trying to connect the person I used to be with who I'm becoming in the present so a part of that was getting over the insecurity of how I look and feel about my body. Though I'm learning to meet and love myself at this chapter, I couldn't help but feel anxious that I wouldn't measure up to my own standards. I happily proved to myself that I am more than enough. <3

My favorite part of the entire experience was how you hyped me up and made me feel comfortable and beautiful in my own skin. What a progression it was to start the day with nerves and end it on such a high and positive note. Once we got into the groove, I got out of my head and out of my own way which wouldn't have been possible without your help. Thank you!!

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I feel like a BADASS!! I came in with an open mind and an open heart to trust the process and I did just that. Seeing all of my pictures in the end felt like I was staring at a brand new person but really it was me all along. I just needed to be reminded of how amazing, strong and stunning I already am.

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

This experience absolutely helped reaffirm a positive perception of myself. Often as women, we tend to focus on our insecurities and shortcomings so this year I've made a conscious effort to undo that mindset and practice more patience and kindness with myself. So to be able to capture that through the lens of body positivity, female empowerment and self-love, I can now look back at these photos and remember how beautiful and deserving I am of true happiness and joy. That's such a spectacular thing to celebrate!

I had been considering a boudoir shoot this year but seeing Satin Dauls shown with a "local influencer" (Ms. Chester) that I follow, it felt like the safest bet to go with when choosing a boudoir photographer.

I was nervous that I was going to be really self-conscious. I read and heard so many times that once you see the pictures you won't believe it's you but I just didn't think that would be the case for me, but in fact once I was seeing the pictures I felt the insecurities going away.

My favorite part of the experience was chatting in the beginning with Brianne and Lisa - it really helps to break any walls down and build trust before you get on the other side of the lens. Next favorite has to be getting to basically play "dress-up" in pieces that I would never ever buy or wear in my regular life and going set-to-set.

I feel EMPOWERED. I feel kinder to myself. Even though I have health goals in front of me, I can feel myself being kinder in the way I look in the mirror and believing my partner more now when he says I'm beautiful or something...

I was nervous more about my prep- or rather, lack thereof. I had this huge plan to exercise a lot more in preparation, when I made my appointment months before. But ultimately, I didn’t make the lifestyle changes I had intended. I was nervous about not being comfortable in my skin and it showing in the pictures.

My favorite part of the experience was the collaboration with Bree and how free and fun it all felt: I never felt rushed and always felt beautiful.

Surprisingly enough, what I WASN'T nervous about was being photographed outside. The hardest, most nerve-wracking part for me was picking outfits I would feel comfortable in and wondering how I would look in them. My body confidence was at an all time low.

Honestly, I wasn’t nervous until I arrived outside the building of the studio, but within minutes of entering the studio space, my nerves were put at ease. I did however have concerns about how self-conscious I would feel during the process. But after being glammed up by Lisa and being cheered on by Brianne there was nothing to worry about, except the mouth pout, haha.

But my favorite part was the progression of my confidence during the shoot. After every pose the nerves started fading away. Brianne was amazing walking me through all the poses and making me feel at ease. Then she showed me a sneak peak from the camera, and I couldn’t believe that was me!

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I felt a sense of accomplishment. I’m still in shock when I see the pictures and think to myself, I actually did that, and I owned it!

Absolutely! Before I was a mother and a wife, I was a woman who was more confident and in tune with my own sexuality. Over the years I had lost parts of myself, and this experience brought it all back.

I saw her work, joined your VIP facebook group and loved all of the support that you gave and how everyone always seemed so comfortable and happy coming out of it and I wanted to feel that way if I did a shoot.

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

I was just nervous for the whole unknown of it all, how would I look, would I be weird posing or look silly doing so. It was something that was so out of my comfort zone that leading up to the morning of was a combination of excitement and nerves.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

I felt pampered haha I am always taking care of others, so it was a good change for once. I also loved that Brianne was so patient and helped me get out of my comfort zone. At some point I even felt adventurous and asked to do a difficult pose I saw and loved in the past. When we actually did it and saw how it turned out it was such a proud moment!

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I know some people will think I am lying, but I do feel different! The session was more than just taking pictures. It was a moment of self-discovery. I brought out a part of me that has been buried deep for years. That part of me came out that day and stayed in the spotlight. I am feeling more confident in all aspects of my life.

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

Absolutely! Like I mentioned in the previous question, I am myself again. I still have work to do, but I found a part of me that has been lost. I feel beautiful, sexy, empowered and capable of doing hard things. I feel inspired.

I think this experience is more than just recommended. It is a must for every woman! This is self care! It is something you will never forget. Do it for yourself! It has been less than 24 hours and I am still on cloud 9. I find myself looking at the polaroid that I got from the session and just so obsessed and in love with my body. M any women have concerns and fears when trying to decide whether or not to book a boudoir session. These fears are very common and unfortunately, cause many women to miss out on this amazing experience. One of the things boudoir photographers hear most from boudoir clients after all is said and done is, “Every woman should experience this at least once in their lifetime!” They also get many repeat clients because after their first session, they have put those fears and concerns to rest.

Let’s look at some of the most common concerns that I hear from girls who feel a little skeptical and let’s put those fears to rest!

I am not comfortable with my flaws

Let’s face it, we all have flaws! Not a single one of us is perfect. There is no such thing as too heavy, too thin, too pale, too dark, too many stretch marks, etc. Our flaws are what makes us unique. And you are ALL equally beautiful! I have flaws myself, and I can assure that I am that last one to judge any female for anything they see as a flaw. I see you as a strong badass woman who is gorgeous in her own way. I see you as a client therefore, I will go above and beyond to listen to you and help guide you the whole process while focusing on your best assets.

I won’t know how to pose properly

Listen up ladies! As a professional boudoir photographer, I do my research. You do not need to know how to pose, it’s my job to pose you! I will direct you through the whole process all the way down to the way you tilt your head and where to place your hand. I will actually demonstrate the poses with you and physically move your hands, arms, legs, etc. if needed. It is a team effort and we are in this together. All you need to do is show up and let me handle the rest. You may come into the session feeling a little stiff and awkward but, gradually you will become more and more comfortable with each pose. You do not need to be a professional model to have a boudoir session!

I’m afraid I won’t like the photos of myself

This concern usually stems from the above two concerns. Being afraid that your flaws and inability to know how to properly pose will ruin your images. No one wants to look awkward, uncomfortable, or have their flaws put on display and captured on camera. I take great pride in my services and work. I want you to look beautiful and FEEL beautiful when you see your photos! I want you to be satisfied and enjoy your experience. And that’s why I will work tentatively with you to make sure we get the perfect poses and expressions that highlight everything beautiful about you!

A boudoir session is such a wonderful experience! They allow you to see yourself in a way that maybe you refuse to yourself, which is beautiful, sensual and just plain awesome! I want my clients to be pleased and blown away when they see their images and be proud that they decided to go through with it. Please do not let these common fears and concerns from having this experience yourself. You will NOT regret it!

I choose Satin Dauls because a couple of my friends did this amazing once in a life time experience and their outcome was so amazing I had to take a chance for myself. Being a single mother at one point I was working 2 jobs 7 days a week and always put everyone and everything before me. I don’t dress up or put on makeup but when I saw those pictures of all the lovely ladies I had to do something for myself.

Coming into a boudoir photo shoot I was nervous about my figure. Growing up I’ve always been told I was too chubby even as a kid by my family and it made me feel very insecure. As I got older I realized omg I have curves for a Chinese woman and I love it! Brianne made me feel so comfortable all my worries disappeared.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of this experience was literally overall the whole experience. The glam up, the lingerie I never imagined myself showing off or even being in. The confidence and hype my girl Brianne made me feel. Just made me felt so appreciated and beautiful.

After this session I felt so good I couldn’t stop looking at my beautiful pictures. Everything felt so natural and makes me want to do this again. What happens in Vegas...

Back in March of this year, I traveled to Las Vegas to attend classes hosted by The Boudoir Class which is the brain child of two of my favorite photographers- Hannah Colt & Christina Meerloo ! These classes were held by some of boudoirs most talented educators and I spared no expensive to soak up anything they had to offer. I took a Cinematic Glamor & Poolside Posing class with Hannah, Bondage Baddie with Kait Nyutten , Thematic Storytelling with Christina, Constant Lighting with Pratik Naik , and an incredible dessert shootout in Red Rock Canyon! It was a jam packed few days and to make my trip even more worthwhile I also reached out to my friend TikTok's Bento Box Queen, Jessica Woo !

Jess and I have known each other for about 6 years and met in an online Mommy/Kids Fashion Facebook group and the last time we saw each other was 3 years ago when I was last in Vegas. I asked if she would be down for a shoot and she was kind enough to oblige. This just made the trip even more epic and since she is the Queen of TikTok, I would be remiss if I didn't share the TikTok she made from our shoot.

The whole experience lit a fire under my ass! I am still riding on a high 4 months later and my creative juices have been flowing like crazy. It was so incredible hanging around my peers that I've only interacted with online or have just been following them and in awe of their work. I had multiple fan girl moments and I am not ashamed LOL! It was a week I'll never forget!

I always wanted to do a Boudoir shoot for my 40th birthday as I feel it is the right time for me to indulge in this experience and to celebrate a milestone in my life as a woman, mother and wife. I chose to work with Satin Dauls because of the beautiful ladies I saw on the website. They all looked gorgeous, sexy and full of life-something that I wanted to feel and to be captured. Its always more meaningful and special for me when women inspire other women to be the best version of themselves. This is very evident on the website and in the private facebook group. Also a big plus was the availability of the in-house wardrobe assortment and make-up artist/hair stylist. The whole package of the boudoir shoot was convenient and stress-free. This makes a huge difference as I feel the reassurance that everything and all details are clearly taken cared of to make the session a success.

2) What were you nervous about going into your session?

Given that I have very oriental features, I was afraid that I may look too childishly cute and awkward in the photos. Also, I was afraid that I would be uncomfortable being naked and posing in front of the camera. Brianne was very patient with coaching me on poses and had a very professional approach with styling and taking photographs. She made sure that the whole session was enjoyable, light and fun with good results.

3) What was your favorite part of the experience?

There's so many! Hmm.. Glamming up and the reveal are probably my top 2! As a girly girl, its always fun for me to have make overs and being styled by someone professional for a sexy look is always exciting for me. The reveal is always fun because we see the final product of what we worked for. Also as the subject of the shoot, it was rewarding and empowering to see a different beautiful version of myself.

4) How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I feel fulfilled, empowered and sexy! I feel that the timing for me to have this done was perfect.

5) Did the experience help give you a more positive perception of yourself?

Trusting someone to know the right angles, when knowing your own body and angles. Is there vision going to be what you had in your mind. Would I be difficult in these poses. A million and one things ran threw my mind, but just having you make me feel comfortable and felt like a girls night in.

How comfortable I was to jump right in the fifty shades session. Start it off spicy �� and ended it on calm sensual note. Honestly, how difficult the hair wanted to be throughout the photoshoot. Wanted to be the center of attention.

Confidence and empowerment more then before. To see the work and growth and change I have done over the years and celebrating a mild stone in my life. This stamped a new path in my life. Knowing my worth and seeing myself like a baddie. Like damn girl I didn’t know you can look like that.

I chose Satin Dauls Boudoir because Brianne’s portfolio speaks volumes to what an amazing photographer she is. I loved how Brianne was able to capture the essence of a woman in the most elegant, classy way.

She has the ability to capture all the most beautiful aspects of any woman she shoots. I have always been very self-conscious of my appearance and have never been able to look past that to see my own beauty. Since I was a young girl I have always hated photos of myself and been hyper focused on every perceived flaw.

After my boyfriend constantly telling me how beautiful I am and persistently denying his claims, I ventured to make an effort to see myself the way he sees me. I reached out to Brianne with an air of excitement and a touch of terror, a feeling not unlike the first time I went skydiving.

Allowing yourself to be vulnerable is downright scary but Brianne easily, immediately quelled my anxiety and ensured I was well prepared for shoot day. During my shoot Brianne directed my facial expressions and posing, highlighting only the best features of my body.

She gave sneak peeks of some of the photos during my shoot which completely boosted my confidence. By the end of the shoot I felt zero apprehension about going full nude (which was not originally part of the plan) and allowing Brianne full artistic liberty.

I was absolutely blown away by my photographs and the toughest part of the shoot was deciding which images to include/exclude in my photobook. Brianne was able to give me a gift I had never been able to give myself, the ability to love myself and my appearance to the fullest extent without picking apart every inch of what I perceived to be wrong with my body.

I have recommended many of my friends to have Boudoir sessions with Satin Dauls Boudoir and every one of them have loved their experience as much as I did. I even went back for a second session and plan to do more in the future. Thank you Brianne for an amazing, unforgettable experience.

Before Satin Dauls, I only knew one person who had done a boudoir shoot. Bri was someone I already knew and implicitly trusted.

I was nervous that I would make all the wrong faces. I was nervous about not feeling comfortable. When it came to the shoot…. I was super comfortable…. AND some of my favorite shots are some of the first you took! That speaks to how you make your clients feel… safe, comfortable, and free!

My favorite part of the shoot is how comfortable I became in my own skin…. In myself. Really such a tremendous feeling. Also, how you and I would laugh and then you would apologize but one of my favorite shots is one of those moments. (Also… a favorite of anyone I’ve shown my photos too!)

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I can’t wait to do another session. The first time I was unsure what I would do with the pictures. It really was just for me. NOW? Give me an album, give me a blown up pic…. Give me a mural on the side of a building.

I was super nervous that I’d feel uncomfortable the whole time with my body. I’ve always had body dysmorphia.

I’ve considered a boudoir shoot in the past but never committed. After a friend had her shoot with Brianne at Satin Dauls I was floored at how amazing the pictures came out. Everything was flawless! I called Satin Dauls that week to book my session.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

It’s a little intimidating to get naked (or barely clothed) in front of someone you just met, not to mention then taking pictures! But Brianne helps remove your doubts with each conversation from booking, to pre-shoot to day of. When it was time to shed the clothes I felt completely at ease and comfortable.

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

It’s so hard to pick one thing. I loved it all! From the initial welcome to hair and makeup to the client closet to the actual shoot, then the reveal. Omg the reveal - I’d have to pick that. To see yourself through Brianne lense is nothing short of amazing

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Grateful that I finally did it. Wondering how soon is too soon to book another session. I still carry the reminder of what the pictures show - that even if I don’t feel it often, I’m a bad ass diva that can still slay.

Without a doubt! After seeing Brianne work I immediately told my friends about it. Brianne has a gift and the experience that Satin Dauls provides absolutely needs to be shared.

1. What made you choose Satin Dauls Boudoir?

I had a few coworkers who were past clients and they posted their pictures on social media. The shoot pictures were absolutely breathtaking, and they looked so beautiful and confident! I had never considered boudoir photos before, but after speaking to Brianne and consulting with her, I decided to go for it. She is so thorough, affirming, and detail oriented. As soon as I consulted with her, I was ready to jump right into the shoot. It was a great experience.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

I am a bit reserved when it comes to being vulnerable, so trying to picture myself as sexy, bold, and confident was hard. I took Brianne’s suggestions of preparing for it by getting my nails done, keeping my skin hydrated, and picking out a few outfit pieces of my own to help myself ease into the day. She made me so comfortable from the moment I walked in that I was more excited than anything else.

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

Having a glam day of looking my best, not taking myself too seriously, and being able to see myself in a different light was such a good time. It was so nice to do something fun and creative for myself since I normally wouldn’t be so bold. The pictures came out amazing too.

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I feel a lot more relaxed about my body and the way I perceive myself. I can’t help but find myself critical of many parts of myself like so many other women, but the session was an eye opener of how I have been underselling myself because Brianne made me look GOOD. It’s been hard not to show my booty pictures to any and all friends and family �� I am so glad I did the session because I see it as something fun to do for myself while I am young and strong, plus an investment in my self-esteem.

5. Would you recommend Satin Dauls Boudoir to others?

I would (and have) absolutely recommend Satin Dauls to anyone and everyone! Brianne made the whole process easy, fun, and positive. She was clear about the process, the shoot was so professional but felt like hanging with a friend, and my pictures came out AMAZING. Definitely a must for anyone looking to treat themself and simply feel hot ��

1. What made you choose Satin Dauls Boudoir?

Brianne has been my friend for a while, so that made me comfortable first and foremost. I watched her and her business bloom, knew she worked with all types of women, and knew she would guide the way for my inexperienced self.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

What wasn’t I nervous about?! I think the only think I was confident in is I knew I’d be working with my friend. I’m not a girl who does her makeup, or owns any lingerie so the experience was way out of my comfort zone. I’m incredibly camera shy and less than confident in my body so knowing I’d be semi-nude/nude in front of a camera was.. a whole new world.

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

I had a few! Walking into the studio for the first time seeing how far Brianne has come was amazing. SO PROUD. Getting my makeup done was also a big moment for me. I learned a lot and came out looking like a movie star. I’ve rocked fake eyelashes a few times since then haha. My most favorite part though was the reveal. I was shocked, I’m still shocked 6 months later that that’s me. I didn’t realize I’m that sexy! A 29 year old sultry and sexy, beautiful, confident, strong, fearless woman

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

Short answer, can I do this every day? Long answer: I gained a TON of inner confidence with myself, especially since 2021 started off with a rough break up. I rung in my 29th birthday with this photo shoot and honestly it changed everything. I feel like I bloomed as a woman. I feel empowered. Strong.

5. Would you recommend Satin Dauls Boudoir to others?

Yes. 100x yes. All of you. Big, small, tall, short, pale as a ghost or dark as a delicious bar of chocolate (I’m the ghost). Do it as a couple, a single lady, for your significant other, but more importantly for yourself.

1. What made you choose Satin Dauls Boudoir?

Truth be told, I always wanted to do something out of my comfort zone like this; but I never felt I was sexy in “that” way. I knew I could feel that way on the dance floor in my ballroom/latin dresses; but when it came to my own skin, I felt average or as I would call it, “vanilla”. I knew Brianne back in high school; but life happens as we reconnected on Facebook like so many others. I saw her talent and ability to capture women and highlight them in the most beautiful ways regardless of age, shape, color or style. For me, I wanted someone who I was comfortable with, if I was going to do something out of my norm; but also someone who wasn’t afraid to push me a little further than that. I saw how she hyped up every session, celebrated every curve and embraced each person’s uniqueness. The responses from her clients were off the charts expressing their gratitude, new found love for themselves, and desire to be a repeat client. There wasn’t any other photographer that I trusted with this experience and felt confident I would have results like the ladies before me.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

It took me a while before I pulled the trigger on booking a session. Brianne’s patience and sincerity was a reason I knew that when I felt the time was right, we would find the best way to express “me”.

I didn’t do this for anyone else except myself (although my man did enjoy the pictures after)! I have struggled on and off with body dysmorphia, eating disorders, self esteem and an unhealthy relationship with the scale. I am extremely critical of my body and allowing someone else to highlight and capture my vulnerability was very hard for me. I admit have edited photos to look better and relinquishing that control and just accept was very difficult for me. Is my body where I want it to be? No. Did I reach for extra drinks and cookies the week(s) going into my session? Yes. Did I do the damn thing and crush it? Omg…Yes!

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

I think there was something special that I take with me from every step of the process.

Pre-Shoot: understanding what I want and why! I looked at all of Satin Daul’s boudie bonuses and previous photos and thought, I want to look like that! I love that section; I completely want to do that! As the days approached, I really thought about what it was I was trying to accomplish- who am I? I am classy, timeless, vulnerable, flirty, fun, sexy and sometimes controlling. A femme fatale of the ages and when I really thought about it, my vision wasn’t looking at photos wanting to be them, it was looking at inspiration to the woman I want to portray.

During- The laughs in between shots were hysterical and sometimes uncomfortable and I mean that in the most sincere way. Sometimes it was the hardest position to get into and I can remember thinking “there’s no way this looks right or good” and DAMN! I’m so glad I was wrong! I love the behind the scenes as the session starts to how it ends and your walls come down, comfort level increases, and fun is non stop!

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I saved the “after” for here.
Seeing the photos the same day was a shock. I couldn’t believe how amazing they looked with soft edits and thinking “wow I/we really did that!” The photo selection process is probably my highest anxiety moment of the day! (Haha). You start narrowing down from this number to the next and getting down to the nitty gritty knowing there’s a part of you that loves them all and you never want to make the “wrong decision”. If I had to go, I’d probably get more and would encourage others to do the same if you’re like me and are slightly indecisive.

Receiving my book and looking back, I could not be happier with my session and the photos! It is me. Everything that I wanted it to be, everything I thought I couldn’t be, Brianne showed me, I AM! I am the old fashion pin-up, old soul while still being timeless and classy in my 30s with a day-dreaming look into how I would fit into the role hearing, “Mr. Grey will see you now”.

5. Would you recommend Satin Dauls Boudoir to others?

Beyond words yes.

Everything came down to THIS moment. I decided to not let the scale dictate my self worth; no one put me in a corner, covid didn’t win, my injuries didn’t keep me glued to the couch, and I didn’t need to put the fork down (as I love to repeatedly tell myself). Guess what, whether you’re a size 00, 8, 16, 3x, we all have rolls when we sit and we all critique our bodies more than we would like to admit.

Choose you!! Choose to break free of your walls and limitations - you’re the only one who put them there in the first place. Only you know when you’re ready to put your faith and trust in front of someone else’s camera; but when you do, don’t be afraid to jump, spread your wings and fly because girl, you were destined for greatness and Brianne won’t let you fall!

1. What made you choose Satin Dauls Boudoir?

I chose Satin Dauls Boudoir after seeing such beautiful images of women who resembled me. It really convinced me that Satin Dauls was the perfect fit for me. Seeing women of all shades, shapes, sizes is really important to me since it is lacking in most forms of art when showing beauty. I wanted to be the art for once.

2. What were you nervous about going into your session?

I was extremely nervous going into the session. I was worried about my flaws… not having good images in the end… but…When I arrived, I was welcomed and felt comfortable in the space as well as with the artists—both makeup and photographer—Bree. I was ready to take it all off after makeup!

3. What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of the experience was the viewing. I was so nervous about what the images would look like and if they would be sexy— the constant questioning of being enough. I was about seven months postpartum and also…covid. It was a nice escape. I was blown away by my own beauty. I never felt that before.

4. How do you feel now that you’ve completed the session?

I’m so happy that I did it, and I would love to do it again when the right time comes. Hmmm…

What the heck is a Boudie Bonus?

Well for starters, I really like to use the word "boudie" any chance that I get because HELLLOOOOO, it's so fun to say!

But on serious note, Boudie Bonuses are FREEBIES for clients who choose to prepay for our top 2 Collections - either in full before their session or via our popular payment plans.

How it works: If you book a session and pre-pay for one of our collections, you will receive a certain number of bonus options to choose from.

We love when clients pre-purchase a Collection because it helps make the shoot day more stress-free! Pre-purchasing a Collection helps us too because it lets us know what products you are most likely getting and we can shoot accordingly so that you get the best variety of images for your products. It makes the ordering appointment easier and quicker because you already know what you are going to get!

Some of our bonuses are extra "sets" that we don't normally do, such as the angel wings and shower set! There are currently 6 to choose from and have 2 new sets in the works for 2022! We offer a HUGE variety of bonuses you can choose from to customize your experience with us.

What Do I Wear for My Boudoir Session?

What exactly do I wear for my session?

One of the amazing perks about working with Satin Dauls Boudoir is our incredible Client Wardrobe.

Our Client Wardrobe (which is included in your Boudoir Session Experience) contains sizes XS-6X, averaging a total of about 400 plus pieces at the studio. We have a variety of styles available like bodysuits, 2 and 3 piece sets, corsets, robes, and bustiers. If you're not sure what some of those things are (I get it, before I was a boudoir photographer I had NO IDEA what a bustier was), Google it!

There are so many different styles and cuts of lingerie available out there and we try to showcase items to fit and flatter all body types and accent different styles and personalities. Also in the Client Wardrobe is a variety of high heels and jewelry including necklaces, pearls, and body chains!

Our Clients love the Client Wardrobe!

We keep our Client Wardrobe clean and sanitary by requiring all of our clients to wear sanitary liners, as well as place our items through a triple santization process after each wear.

Not sure about using the Client Wardrobe? That's OK!

Some clients decide to shop around for lingerie to bring with them on the day of their shoot. Totally fine! If you do purchase or bring your own, we suggest nothing with print or pattern. When it comes to color, simple is best - it is also much more elegant and classy which is something you will appreciate in your photos!

I will say that 90% of the women who do bring their own lingerie end up wearing pieces from our Client Wardrobe at the studio instead. By no means do you have to bring anything to your session, only what makes you feel sexy and confident!

A Brief Overview of Boudoir

If you've been following Satin Dauls Boudoir for any amount of time, you'll notice we talk a lot about Boudoir and we provide you with lots of information on how to prep for a shoot, but we don't often explain what exactly Boudoir is and what it means.

Boudoir is the French word for a woman's bedroom, so it makes sense that a boudoir photo shoot is typically thought of as a sexy photoshoot.

Clients typically wear sexy outfits - lingerie, stockings, undergarments, dresses, etc. It doesn’t always have to be like that though! Personally, when I think of a boudoir shoot, I think of it as more of a confidence booster. While some women believe wearing sexy clothing helps them build confidence, that’s not always the case.

Many women choose to wear items of clothing that they wear every day (i.e.- a tank or tee, a fitted button-down shirt, a robe, a jersey, etc.) that will remind them of that photoshoot every time they wear it. I welcome your creative input and remember, you are part of your styling team too!

Many Choose Boudoir for a Variety of Reasons

While some women choose to do a shoot for a significant other (birthday gift, wedding present, anniversary, etc.), it typically ends up being a gift for themselves more so in the long run. Sessions do SO MUCH to lift you up and give you back a sense of self, and a refreshed feeling of confidence.

Your partner will look lovingly at the images too, but the true feeling of transformation will only be felt by you, our client, and the subject of the images.

Boudoir Often Leads to a Confidence Boost

Most of my clients have shared that booking a shoot initially brought on feelings of anxiety, but ended up being a huge confidence builder for them. I'm here for you every step of the way and can often talk you through the different feelings and emotions you may feel before your session. Always reach out!
